Motivation: How to be all-in?

Do you know that you have so much more to give, but just aren’t giving 100%? Are you struggling to get going? Are you not giving your all? In this post I will share with you how I overcame this issue and taught myself how to commit to anything I want to do, 100%!

Today, if I want to do something I am in control of how much effort I put in. I’m not going to lie, I don’t wake up and am 100% all the time. Like, seriously, who put’s 100% energy into brushing their teeth at 6am. But, what I am able to do is put 100% commitment and energy into something if I choose too. But, it wasn’t always like that. I used to put my energy into the wrong areas of my life. If there was something that’d benefit me (like the gym or developing my business) I wouldn’t give 100%. Probably because it was hard and I’d find excuses. How did I overcome that? Understanding what is a driver to my vision in life.

Success! You're on the list.

What you have to understand is that no one, and I mean no one can force you to give 100%. If your heart isn’t in it, you will not give 100%. You, and only you are in control of that.

So what exactly is a driver to your vision? A driver is something that takes you a step closer to realising that dream vision you have. For example, whether it be towards having a six pack, buying a rental property or launching your first business. You have to decide:

  • What is it you want in life?
  • What do you care about?
  • If you don’t give your 100%, are you sabotaging your life and your vision?
  • Are you going to accept that?
  • No, so what are you going to do about it?

Ok so what do you need to do to get there? Here are the steps I took:

Vision

Break down the areas in your life, for example: health, wealth, happiness and family, and create a vision of what you want in the future. Really picture it. What do it look like? How does it feel? What do that vision sound like? No limits, what is your dream?

Create your drivers

Identify the steps you need to take to start to achieve your vision. This is the action plan (read my blog here on how to create an action plan). Do some research, read books, watch videos, invest in yourself or get a coach.

Does it serve your vision?

This is where you decide. If it is something that serves your vision, for example does saving money serve your vision of buying a rental property, then it is a yes. Does buying a brand new car serve that vision? No.

You then decide. Are you going to create your life, or sabotage your life? If you want to create your life, then you must put 100% into the drivers in your life. No excuse.

Remember, no matter to task ahead, whether it be personal development, health and fitness, or money, you are responsible. Accept that your decisions shape your reality and you will become accountable for your life.

I hope this helps, JT.
